Victor Ojewale Joins OpenMined’s 2026–2027 Fellows Cohort

CNTR PhD candidate Victor Ojewale selected for OpenMined’s inaugural 2026–2027 Research Fellows cohort.

Victor Ojewale is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Computer Science at Brown University, where he focuses on responsible AI. This month, Victor was selected for OpenMined’s inaugural cohort of research fellows. OpenMined is a nonprofit organization that develops open-source technology to help researchers and organizations use data for AI and scientific research while protecting people's privacy.

The seven-month fellowship includes cohort discussions, peer feedback sessions, and monthly conversations with researchers and practitioners from across the field. Victor, along with the other selected fellows, will receive unrestricted research funding, technical mentorship from the OpenMined team, and access to the tools and computing resources needed to advance their projects. They will also participate in an all-expenses-paid cohort gathering in New York City, connect with leading industry researchers, and receive support to present their work at conferences and workshops.

Beyond his research, Victor excels at making complex AI concepts accessible to a broad audience. Through his Substack writing and LinkedIn posts, he translates nuanced and often abstract ideas into clear, engaging insights that are easy to understand.

Congratulations, Victor!
