Shape the Future of Tech—Join the CNTR Professional Mentorship Program!

Are you passionate about the intersection of technology and society? The Center for Technological Responsibility, Re-imagination, and Redesign (CNTR) is launching its inaugural Professional Mentorship Program in Spring 2026. This program is dedicated to supporting students who want to reimagine how technology is built and governed, ensuring it puts people first.

Designed to provide direct industry insight, the program offers a structured pilot experience for its first cohort:

  • Professional Mentorship: Students are matched with experienced industry professionals and Brown alumni who are leaders in the field of technological responsibility.
  • Time Commitment: Participants should expect to dedicate 2-4 hours per month, during March, April, and May, which includes at least one monthly meeting with their mentor.
  • Comprehensive Support: All participants receive an Info Packet with guidance on goal-setting, suggested questions, and resource lists to ensure a successful professional partnership.
  • Community Building: Beyond one-on-one meetings, the program includes monthly check-ins, feedback sessions, and at least one in-person event, such as the CNTR Annual Bash.

Why Join? Whether you are a non-technical student trying to envision a career in tech or a CS major focused on ethical design, or somewhere in between, you'll gain:

  • Industry Guidance through direct insights from professionals working in ethical tech, law, policy, and research.
  • Professional Growth by focusing on resume building, high-level networking skills, and understanding real-world industry standards.
  • Community by building meaningful relationships with experts who share your commitment to technological responsibility.

Be part of our first cohort! We are currently recruiting 10 professional mentors and 10 student mentees to ensure a high-quality, personalized experience.
