Center for Technological Responsibility, Reimagination and Redesign

In our continued commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and open discovery, the CNTR, in partnership with the SciToons Program, is creating an animated video that enhances understanding of the ethics of AI and its intersection with responsible technology.

The SciToons Program was created by Oludurotimi Adetunji, Associate Dean of the College for Undergraduate Research and Inclusive Science, through his development of the Multimedia Learning Theoretical Framework (MLTF).  Based on the MLTF, a new model for communicating science to a broad audience (new learners, students, or the general public) called SciToons was developed.  The SciToons model engages both novices and experts through an iterative feedback process in the development of narratives, storyboards, animatics, visualizations, and animations.  Examples of completed projects can be found here.

Using the SciToons Model, we are convening a small project team of AI subject matter experts, creative directors, project animators, and voice talent.  Development begins in Spring 2026 semester, with an anticipated release date at the end of 2026. We are currently recruiting undergraduate student workers for project animator positions.  Please apply on Workday.
