CNTR Receives Two Internal Grants for New Project, "Technologies as Prosthetics"

Affiliate Kim Fernandes and CNTR Program Manager Meredith Mendola were chosen for two internal awards to support their new project, "Technologies as Prosthetics".  The internal awards were granted by the Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women and the Brown Arts Institute.

This project highlights gender-marginalized and disabled contributions to tech history. They will create interactive digital experiences that transform academic research into accessible public knowledge.

By centering disabled innovators, they demonstrate that accessibility is essential to technological progress, not peripheral.

Funding supports three workshops for the Brown community and develops a feminist, disability-centered digital humanities resource.

Stay tuned for more updates as this project gets underway.
